Getting up at 5am on a Saturday does not excite a lot of us but it was either that or going the night before and paying loads of dosh to overnight in our capital city. We arrived at 10am after a hilarious trip through from Glasgow where team INAA brainstormed Guerrilla Tactics for getting the word out there about ‘booking last minute salon appointments’! We applauded ourselves for getting the stand up in 10 minutes flat – no mean feat I can tell you, and clearly designed by a 6 ft man with extra long arms!
The doors opened at 11am and instantly the room was filled with 1000’s of lovely ladies all looking for that special treat. There were makeup artists, jewellers, cupcakes, knickers and all manner of girly things to try or buy. One very senior lady, cocktail in hand, asked where the free spray tan booth was? St Moritz is just round the corner I said. Great, can’t wait to get my kit off for this – I have a bet with my granddaughter – she thinks I won’t do it! That’s what’ special about these events – old and young get a chance to try new experiences amongst friends.
Our stand was very busy with lots of ladies signing up to register with INAA for all our great promotions at Salons across the city. We ran a ‘spot prize draw’ where you picked a counter and if you were lucky to pick the right colour – you won a prize from a selection of 200 beauty products. SWAG Bags filling up nicely!
7pm came and we headed to our hotel for some well earned rest and a few glasses of Prosecco! Much too exhausted to go for dinner. So it was xfactor and a take away.
Sunday was a gloriously sunny day, so the event was a wee bit quieter, which gave us a chance to go round and meet some of the other exhibitors. There was a team from the ‘Entrepreneurial Spark’ showing all their fab products, these ladies are so ingenious with their ideas – we loved them! Carol Smillie & Annabel Croft were there promoting Diary Doll (period pants) with Debenhams providing hourly fashion shows and upbeat music.
We have to hand it to Pout - they ran a pretty cool event. Food was excellent and their staff were great ambassadors . . . . roll on next year!
